New puppy · 8 to 16 weeks · Force-free
The first thirty days with a new puppy, hour by hour.
Five short files and a page for the fridge. A calm plan for the month, written to be used with a puppy in your lap, not a 150-page ebook you will never finish.

2:14 a.m.
It will wake. This is the hour new owners break, because at two in the morning a crying puppy feels like a verdict on you.
It is not. It is a bladder. Out, no talking, no play, no lights, back to bed. Day One tells you what to do at 2:14 a.m., at 6:00, at the 7 p.m. biting hour, and on day eleven when you wonder whether it is working.
Why not free advice
The internet has the answers. It also has forty of them.
Free videos at 2 a.m.
Forty tabs. Three trainers who disagree. A dominance video you should not have watched. Advice written for a dog that is not yours, at an age yours is not.
Day One
Open today's page. Do the next thing. Go back to bed.
What is in the kit
Five files. Each one does one job.
Crisis lives in one file, tomorrow morning in another, shopping in a third. Nothing is repeated, so nothing is padding.

The First Thirty
The month, day by day. Five house laws, the first 72 hours, then week by week to day thirty, ending with what good enough actually looks like.

Tonight
One page per crisis, sized for a phone. Crate crying, accidents, biting, night waking, won't settle, jumping, chewing, a walk gone wrong.

Today
The daily clock for the fridge. Both age bands, hour by hour, with a tally for the toilet trips.
34 pages in total. Short on purpose.
What a $5 checklist leaves out
Three ideas the whole month rests on.
The routine
The loop is an order, not a schedule.
Clock times shift; the order never does. Miss a slot and you go to the next one, not back to the start of the day.
The evenings
An overtired puppy is not a naughty puppy.
The 7 p.m. biting, the frantic laps of the living room: that is a puppy who has been awake too long. A young puppy sleeps sixteen to twenty hours a day and will not take itself to bed. The fix is a nap, never more play.
The window
Socialisation closes at around sixteen weeks.
Most owners are told to keep the puppy indoors until the vaccinations finish. By then the window has largely closed. The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior says careful socialisation before the course is complete should be the standard of care. Day One shows you how to do it safely.
Look inside
Real pages from the kit.
Is it for you
Written for one kind of month.
For
- First-time owners, or anyone who has forgotten what week one is like
- Puppies between 8 and 16 weeks
- People who would rather have one plan than forty opinions
- Before pickup, or any day in the first month
Not for
- Adult or rescue dogs. Their first month needs a different plan
- Growling, guarding, or a bite that breaks skin. That needs a qualified professional, not a book
- Medical questions. Those go to your vet
- Teaching sit, paw and tricks. That comes later, and goes faster on this foundation

Questions
Before you buy.
Is this a printed book?
No. Five PDF files, sent by email the moment you pay. Read them on your phone, or print the pages you want. The fridge page is the one most people print.
Was it written by a vet?
No, and we will not pretend it was. It is an education resource built on published veterinary and behaviour guidance, including the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior position on puppy socialisation. It never diagnoses, and every health question points you to your own vet.
My puppy is older than 16 weeks. Is it still useful?
The routine and the crisis pages still apply through the fifth and sixth month. The socialisation week is written for the window before 16 weeks, so for an older puppy you would use it as a catch-up rather than a schedule.
Does it cover rescue dogs?
No. It is written for puppies. An adult rescue needs a different first month, with more decompression and less structure early on, and this kit does not pretend to cover it.
Does it teach sit, stay and the rest?
No, on purpose. Commands are not what makes the first month work. Sleep, toilet timing, the crate and calm exposure to the world are. Commands come later, and go faster on that foundation.
What is the difference between Tonight and Day One?
Tonight is file 03 alone, twelve pages for the crisis in front of you. Day One is all five files, including the month plan that stops most of those crises happening. Buy Tonight first and you can upgrade later for the difference.
